Yoga

MetroRock is pleased to offer Yoga classes on a regular basis. Classes are taught by experienced yoga instructors who also share the passion of climbing. This allows them to focus-in on strengthening and stretching core muscles used in the sport. Yoga practice will help you increase flexibility, strength and mental focus; all vital elements to improve your climbing abilities!

Yoga is $8 for members or with a day pass. $12 for non-members.

  • Tuesday at 7:30
  • Thursdays at 4:45 and 6pm

Instructors:

Rebecca Sisson has been studying and practicing yoga for 14 years. The physical challenge of yoga first attracted her to the practice, but it’s the peaceful and meditative qualities that keep her coming back. Yoga has brought a sense of balance, love, empathy and humility to her life that she is eternally grateful for. Rebecca's teaching is deeply rooted in anatomy, encouraging alignment and safe exploration of postures, bringing dynamic and creative sequences to her classes. She strives to awaken the adventurous spirit on the the mat, blending a strong and challenging physical practice blended with a sense of playfulness and grace. Yoga is not her only passion; when she's not on the mat you might catch her at the crag or pulling plastic at MetroRock. Rebecca teaches on Monday nights.

Susan Martinson is a Nurse-Midwife by trade, and a fitness and outdoors enthusiast. She has practiced yoga for almost 20 years, and completed her 200 hr RYT in Rowley, MA in June 2017. She enjoys sharing the mind-body connection of yoga, and the powerful experience of being present in challenging postures. Her classes are strong and heart-centered, focused on strength building and flexibility through a flow of creative sequencing. Her classes meet on Thursdays.
