Our dedicated youth climbers train together 2 or 3 times a week under the supervision of experienced and caring coaches. Team MetroRock athletes have the freedom to achieve their individual goals in bouldering, sport and speed climbing - indoors or out! Weekday gym practices balance climbing workouts with supplementary strength, mental and performance training. We spend weekends climbing as a team at local outdoor crags and USAC sanctioned competitions. Each year, several team members typically advance to the Divisional level in bouldering and sport/speed competition.
Our coaches are passionate about sharing their love of climbing with the next generation of climbers. With years of experience training ourselves to climb at our max, we strive to empower young athletes to take ownership of their goals and performance. As a team, we strive to develop kids who will be life long climbers. Workouts are designed using the most current "best practices" for training youth climbers' strength and reducing injury. Off the wall, we challenge team members to be introspective about their mindset, characteristics, motivations and goals in climbing, school and life.
Our facilities feature extensive bouldering areas and tall walls for rope climbing, giving team members plenty of terrain to work on both disciplines. Trips to outdoor climbing areas - both regionally and around the country - round out the season and give members a chance to take their skill to real rock.
Our three competetive team options place climbers of similar age, ability and experience together.
