This allows them to focus-in on strengthening and stretching core muscles used in the sport. Yoga practice will help you increase flexibility, strength and mental focus; all vital elements to improve your climbing abilities!
Yoga Flow classes are open to all humans of all levels. Focus on balance and agility will help with climbing and overall wellness. No yoga experience necessary.

|I use yoga to orient my whole self between the sky and the earth. From this deeply grounded place, I use yoga to create direction and space -- always starting with the body, and extending to the mind and ultimately to the spirit. My classes balance flow and alignment. Expect to move (and maybe even sweat!) with mindfulness and intelligence. My unending gratitude goes to my teachers and peers at Kula Yoga Project, where I completed my teacher training and continue to study.|
Yoga has been a part of Michael's life for the last eight years. In that time he has taken two 200 hour Vinyasa, Power, and Hatha yoga trainings: one with Corepower Yoga in Chicago and the other with Sadhana Yoga School in Bali. As a former dancer, his practice has served his love and interest in movement, breath, and their meditative states. His goal for each class is to practice healthy alignment, strengthen the areas that we may neglect, and stretch the places where we hold most stress. Expect to challenge your body, sweat, and leave feeling refreshed yet energized. When he is not practicing yoga you can find him climbing, eating lots of pizza and Thai food, and biking around BK.
Leigh has been practicing yoga for ten years and teaching in various settings - from studios to elementary schools to universities to incarceration facilities - since 2010. She trained extensively in Ashtanga Yoga at Ashtanga Yoga Ann Arbor, and holds her 200 hr certification from the Mount Madonna Institute, where she later assistant taught subsequent teacher trainings. She also holds certifications from Street Yoga and Yoga Behind Bars, organizations that train teachers in trauma-informed techniques for bringing yoga to demographics that have faced challenges including addiction, mental illness, abuse, homelessness, and incarceration. She holds an MFA in poetry, and when not yoga-ing, she might be in a dance class, writing, or nannying.
