Until it is safe to resume, Yoga classes have been suspended for the safety of our members, guests, and staff.

MetroRock is pleased to offer Yoga classes on a regular basis. Classes are taught by experienced yoga instructors who also share the passion of climbing. This allows them to focus-in on strengthening and stretching core muscles used in the sport. Yoga practice will help you increase flexibility, strength and mental focus; all vital elements to improve your climbing abilities!

Yoga is FREE for members and just $5 for non-members.

2020 Schedule:

  • Monday from 6:30-7:30pm
  • Tuesday from 7:30-8:30pm
  • Wednesday from 7:30pm-8:30pm
  • Thursday from 7:30-8:30pm

To attend a yoga class please check in with the front desk at least 15 minutes prior to the start of class.

Melissa Paz, Lead Instructor
Having danced from an early age, Melissa has always believed movement to be an incredible instrument for self-expression. She completed her 200-hour training from CorePower Yoga and received an additional certification in Trauma-Informed Yoga from Firefly Yoga International. Her style of teaching aims to embody a balance between challenge and ease. She believes that situating yoga within the context of climbing has the capacity not only to build mental and physical fortitude, but also to deepen the connection that students have to themselves. Through her classes, she hopes to provide a space that offers the same sense of joy, exploration, and creativity that is found on the wall, as well as to empower students to feel confident in their own movement. She is grateful to be a part of the MetroRock family.

Alana Russell
Alana has always found yoga and meditation to be a profound way to ground and feel at peace in the mind, body, and soul. As an elementary school teacher she feels yoga helps her maintain a healthy physical and mental state of being, and is a powerful way to radiate positive energy outward to her community. After years of regular personal practice, Alana completed her Yoga Teacher Training with Breathe for Change in the summer of 2019. Her desire to become a yoga teacher stems from her belief that practicing self wellness skills can generate positive change within each of us, and when we care for ourselves first, we can then transform our communities for the better. Alana strives to build yoga classes that are accessible to all who attend and leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized with a sense of inner joy and peace. She is excited to share her yoga practice with the MetroRock community!
