If the spirit of adventure and challenging climbs appeals to you,
try climbing on ice. Ice climbing opens a new door to climbing outdoors
in the winter. During the MetroRock Ice Climber
course, you climb with a MetroRock Professional in one of the most
extreme adventure specialties climbing offers. If you like fun,
people and a challenge, you’ll love the MetroRock
Ice Climber course.
We will teach you:
- Ice climbing gear and proper use
- Practice the procedures and techniques for handling
the problems and hazards of ice climbing
- Use specialized ice climbing equipment, rope types,
communications, and belaying
- Crampon use & movement, proper ax swing and
ice climbing technique
- Learn about the effects of cold and how to best
prepare for a winter ascent
Max ratio 6 Climbers : 1 Instructor.

Equipment Requirements: Harness, Winter Clothing,
Ice Axes, Crampons, Climbing Boots (rentals available, call for

Suggested Prerequisites: 101, 102 or 121 Course
