301 Indoor Lead Climber
The Indoor Lead Climber course is you last step to be able to climb
any type of route in the rock gym. When you can confidently climb
5.8+ and are ready to take the next step, consider our Indoor Lead
Climber class. We will be doing some physical training in class.
The main focus is red-pointing, on-sighting, mental imaging, advanced
belay, route reading, and leading techniques. All on the sharp end!
We will teach you:
- Belaying: how to spot and belay a lead climber
- Leading: how to climb on the sharp end of the
rope with maximal safety
- Clipping: how to avoid back clipping and Z-clipping,
and how to clip efficiently in a variety of positions
- Falling: how to position yourself to fall with
maximal safely
This course is designed for climbers: Climbing
5.8 or higher
Max ratio 6 Climbers : 1 Instructor
Dates: Every 3rd Sunday of the month from 9 to noon
Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, Dec. 19
Equipment Requirements: Harness, Climbing Shoes,
Locking Carabiner and Belay Device
Suggested Prerequisites: 201
