Everett Expansion Update, March 11.
Have you heard about the coming expansion to the Everett gym? In early January, we began work on new climbing area adjacent to the current climbing walls. The new space will turn Boston’s premier climbing gym into one of the best in the country, if not the world.

The expansion includes sick new climbing walls and other facilities to enhance your climbing experience. We are adding 6,000 sq feet of additional climbing area featuring:
- a huge overhanging lead wall with a 45 degree section and nasty arêtes.
- tall, steep towers, slabs, stemming corners and generally awesome terrain.
- world-class speed wall built according to IFSC standards.
- kid’s climbing areas.
Separate rope challenge courses for both kids and adults will be a new addition to the gym. These structures provide fun and physical challenges in a team-building format. These are the kind of things the army trains on and kids have tons of fun on. Imagine a giant playground structure where you need a helmet and you're on the right track!
We're adding large conference/party rooms for use by groups visiting the facilities. Whether it’s your birthday, a corporate team building meeting or a scout group, MetroRock will have what you need to make the event a success.
A dedicated fitness area will make your workouts more complete. Cardio machines, weights and space for yoga will make the gym your one stop for exercise. You’ll be able to get a solid workout without even climbing!
The expansion will be open to the public this Spring. Keep an eye out for updates and pictures. In the meantime, check out climber/photographer Pat Bagley's blog for more pics.
Get yourself psyched and ready to get on these sick new walls. We can't wait to set them, you can't wait to climb them!
